Worthington Enterprises is one of America’s Most Charitable Companies for 2026. The inaugural list ranks 300 companies, with Worthington Enterprises ranked second in the Materials & Chemicals industry category.
“This recognition reflects our commitment to practicing good citizenship at all levels,” said Sonya Higginbotham, senior vice president and chief of corporate affairs, communications and sustainability, Worthington Enterprises. “Our Philosophy encourages employees to actively participate in community affairs, and we’re continually amazed at our employees’ generosity in sharing their time and talents in meaningful ways.”
Newsweek, in collaboration with Statista, surveyed 18,000 U.S. residents to evaluate companies across 14 industries to measure public perception. The multi-layered evaluation process also included social listening and KPI analysis from corporate reporting to inform overall scores and determine the rankings.
Worthington Enterprises employees tracked more than 2,000 volunteer hours in fiscal year 2025 and fiscal year 2026, including through employee resource groups, leadership development cohorts, department-led efforts and individual support for personal causes.
Through The Worthington Companies Foundation, Worthington Enterprises supports worthwhile community causes in the areas where we live and work. In fiscal year 2025, the Foundation, which is also supported by Worthington Steel Inc., contributed $3.1 million to 73 organizations in our focus areas of Health, Human Services, Youth & Education and Civic Causes.
One example is collaborating with The Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland to help address the underrepresentation of women in STEM fields and support their Dream Big Transformational Initiative. Our multi-year donation helped transform their 220-acre camp into a hands-on STEM Leadership Center and Makers Space that opened in 2025.
This week in our headquarters region of central Ohio and home to two manufacturing facilities, Columbus Business First honored Worthington Enterprises as a Corporate Citizenship Awards honoree for 2026. The program honors central Ohio companies giving the most to area non-profits.
