Understanding and managing climate-related risks is an important part of enterprise risk management at Worthington Enterprises. Preparing for risks before they become disruptions helps protect our people, facilities and operations while supporting long-term business continuity.
Since 1978, Worthington Enterprises has partnered with Factory Mutual Insurance Company (FM), a property insurer and loss control consultant, to identify risks and strengthen protections across our operations. Through annual assessments, FM evaluates our facilities and recommends actions that can help reduce the likelihood and potential severity of property loss. Increasingly, that work includes evaluating exposure to climate-related hazards such as severe wind and hail and identifying practical measures—from more resilient roofing materials to equipment protections—that can help facilities better withstand extreme weather.
Our seven top climate-exposed locations represent $739.2 million in total insured value.
FM rates the overall climate risk quality of its clients. The Worthington Enterprises Climate Risk Score—a rating of our company’s overall climate risk quality relative to FM’s client base—of 61 ranks higher than 57% of FM's other climate-exposed clients, reflecting the measures already in place to strengthen resilience. Over the past three years, improvements implemented by the company have reduced climate-related risk by approximately $2.2 million.
Our progress is also reflected in FM's Resiliency Credits, which are designed to help insured companies invest in measures that strengthen protection against climate-related risks. Worthington Enterprises received approximately $123,000 in resiliency credits in fiscal 2026, up from $54,000 the prior year, providing additional resources to continue advancing risk mitigation efforts.
Understanding where risks exist, taking deliberate action and measuring the progress that follows is part of a carefully calculated strategy to keep risk of disruption low.
Through our longstanding partnership with FM, we are strengthening climate resilience and business continuity while helping protect the people, assets and operations that create long-term value.
